mtg is a befuddling game.

in ranked play, coasted to diamond 1, mostly with jeskai dragon control, but some ugin decks, sultai dragon decks, even some boros midaggro. but stalled in diamond 1.

then i load up this deck i spotted on untapped.gg verbatim (think i found it there), and waltzed into mythic, an untarnished 5-0 (yes, a very tiny sample pool).

in final opponent match experienced a spectacular finish as i cast three steps ahead in response to opponent cease / desist, and copied a simulacrum synthesizer in preparation for a lethal crackback.

surprisingly, as ranked ladder has been teeming with otters as of late, only saw one otter deck, and it was a close matchup, but i was able to prevail.

still smh, just looking at this decklist & thinking it actually a competitive deck.

the trick is drawing united battlefront, though a few times it got cast it was a dud (it always drew something, but a few times it only spawned one card) or plucked a couple of artifacts that weren’t relevant for the game state context atm.
